O death, where is thy sting? O Hades, where is thy victory? Christ is risen, and you are annihilated. Christ is risen, and the demons have fallen. There are many who claim that their god is the True God. Yet what religion, other than Christianity, has a God who is All-Powerful? A God who loved His people so much that He sent His own Son to die for them? So it is that on Pascha, or Easter, when the Paschal Lamb has been offered and found worthy, that we remember just what it is that God did for us.
Therein lies the problem. By only caring about the Passion and the Resurrection of our Lord, and then naught but once a year, we ignore what else is going on. We see what God did for us, yet we turn a blind eye to what He is doing for us and what He will do for us. Let us then remember the Passion and the Resurrection not just on Pascha, but every day. Let the cross we wear around our neck remind us each day what was done for us on the All-holy and Life-giving Cross on a hill outside of Jerusalem. Let it remind us of the cross we have to bear each day. Let it remind us of the final triumph to happen on Judgment Day, when we will be granted the everlasting life promised to us with Christ’s death on the Cross.
So often we find that we can only make it to Church on Pascha, or Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, or the Feast of the Nativity, or Christmas, or any other Holy Days of the Church. What then does this say about us? We believe that our God is a God only celebrated on these Holy Days, and even then only the ones we believe are most important? We know that He is the God of Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. With that knowledge, we must act like it. It is our responsibility. Let us then proclaim the news of His Resurrection, not only on Pascha, or Easter, but every day. The tomb is empty. We have been sent forth to tell of our God and His Passion and Resurrection. Let us, with Virtue, share our Knowledge.
