Beholden to No Man

The recent spike in gasoline prices has made me think about how much we depend on oil, much of it foreign, to run our everyday lives. So much of how we live depends on oil, particularly transportation. Why in the name of common sense, do we feed millions upon millions of dollars to countries whose most treasured dream is to wreck our nation? So they can build more technologically advanced training grounds for future hijackers and suicide bombers? Stupid question. However, the fact is that we regularly dump our wallets’ contents into their lap. Is this what our Founding Fathers intended? I think not.
